Mayurasana (peacock pose)

  1. Pre-pose Hansasana.
  2. From Hansasana, bring the shoulders and face downwards and slide (shift) the torso forward to raise the toes above the ground.
  3. Maintain the body horizontal and then try to elevate the legs higher.
  4. In the final position the weight of the body is balanced by the muscles of the abdomen and not the chest.

  2. Useful for flatulence, constipation, diabetes, sluggishness of the liver, kidneys and spleen.
  3. Endocrine system is balanced.
  4. Stimulates elimination of toxins from the blood.

  6. All muscles of the body are strengthened.
  7. The three doshas are balanced.
