Though there were few ways to block a phone number on iPhone, but the recent upgrade of iOS7 can make it even easier.
There is a feature in iOS7 which let you block a number pretty easily. The person owning that number won’t be able to call or text you.
How to block a number on iPhone (iOS7)
- Upgrade your iPhone to iOS7 (if you haven’t already)
- Go to contacts and select the contact you wish to block.
- Scroll down and tap Block Contact.
How to block a number on iPhone (iOS 6 or older)
To block a numbers on iPhone which is running iOS 6 or an older version, you can either ask your phone carrier to block that number for you or you can simply edit the number and turn off the notifications for that number, it won’t block the number but won’t bother you by unwanted call alerts.
To turn off the notifications
- Go to contacts
- Tap on the contact
- Tap on Edit
- Set the Ringtone and Vibration to ‘None’
