Samsung has another budget Android gadget up its sleeve called the Galaxy Trend and it looks all set to compete with all the 4-inch devices that have been introduced in India in the past few weeks. It costs well below 10K and is currently up for sale through Snapdeal. The company is yet to go on record to confirm it though.
As the Samsung
Galaxy Trend serves a generous helping of Android Jelly Bean 4.1, prospective
customers can expect the device to have an intuitive user interface and the OS
should even facilitate smooth transitions between applications. The internal
working of the handset is carried out under the supervision of a 1.2GHz dual
core processor.
The said chipset is
accompanied by 512MB of RAM for improved multitaksing. Speaking of memory, this Galaxy
smartphone tags along merely
4GB of onboard storage which may prove to be insufficient. Thus, an expansion
slot that can support a microSD card of not more than 32GB capacity has been
carved into the chassis.
Two dual SIM card
slots can also be found on the phone whose rear panel plays host to a 3MP
camera. The front side accommodates a 4-inch TFT display of 800 x 480p
resolution. It is compatible with 2G as well as 3G networks and even connects
to hotspots, thanks to built-in Wi-Fi. A 3.5mm audio jack and a USB port can
obviously be used for tethering the gadget to accessories, computer systems,
peripherals and more.
The Samsung Galaxy
Trend is already up for sale for a price of Rs 8,490.
